Salvation Army

Salvation Army (Salvos) is a classic thrift store no matter where you are! Located also on State street further down, the Ann Arbor Salvation Army contains many gems and a very wide collection. This really is the true thrifting experience because it takes hours to look through the huge store, but it can be a great place to go if you have something specific in mind. The upside of Salvos is that it is relatively inexpensive and it also has lots of UMich spirit wear for much less than the MDen (and less environmental impact as well!). It is important to consider, however, that the Salvation Army organization has been involved in controversies in the past relating to anti LGBTQ+ views. Though the organization claims it is moving in a more inclusive direction, this is still a consideration to take when deciding whether to take your business here.
